In security-critical missions, European agencies and operators mostly run systems whose control and further development sit outside Europe. That creates two operational dependencies: on external connectivity, and on the vendor.

At the same time the market is fragmented. Planning, video and detection usually run in separate systems. Integration runs through cloud-based solutions or inside the closed platform of a single vendor.

Operators therefore have to choose between integration, data sovereignty and vendor independence.
