Linear infrastructure
Pipelines, power lines, railways and border sections run across distances that can hardly be checked on foot or by vehicle on any regular basis. Drones fly the corridor systematically.
The drones fly the corridor along a stored route and return to the base station to charge while the next one launches. When detection flags something, the station operator receives an alarm with position and image crop, and decides whether a field operator goes out.
Configuration
- Area: Corridor along a pipeline, power line, railway or border, usually in terrain that is hard to reach
- Setup: Base station at the corridor, several drones in rotating operation
- Operation: Autonomous patrols along predefined routes
- Detection: Anything unusual is marked as a point of interest, with an alarm straight to the station operator
- Handling: Prioritisation and escalation of detected events
- Roles: The station operator monitors fleet and alarms. The field operator verifies on site
Test the scenario in the field
On-site demonstrations in Austria are available. How a pilot runs is set out on the pilot deployment page.
