MISSION & PRINCIPLES

Technology for people who need to make the right decisions in critical situations.

Europe needs its own digital infrastructure for security-critical operations.

For border protection, disaster response and infrastructure security, non-European systems are often used today. As a result, central parts of situational awareness, data flow and operation lie outside one's own control.

Many existing solutions are also fragmented: planning, video streaming and detection run in separate tools. Danubis combines these functions in one coherent system.

Development and operation are based in Austria — a European legal framework, technical expertise and direct proximity to users.

The goal is a system that informs and supports in critical situations while leaving the decision with the human.

Human Responsibility

Mission-critical actions are actively approved by operators. AI provides cues and priorities.

European Sovereignty

Development and location in Austria. No cloud dependency, full control over data and operation.

Integration over Replacement

Existing systems remain usable. Danubis integrates them through defined interfaces.

Vendor Independence

Different drones and sensors are operated through a common abstraction layer.

Offline Readiness

Maps, models and mission data are stored locally. The system is fully operational without an internet connection.

Traceability

Events and decisions are logged without gaps. AI cues remain traceable with context and confidence.

AI recommends. Humans decide. Danubis principle — human-in-the-loop as standard

AI supports detection, prioritization and situational processing. The approval of mission-critical steps remains with the human.

This principle is technically anchored: in the Mission Orchestrator, in the detection pipeline and in the approval paths.

  • Human-in-the-loop as the standard for all mission-critical actions
  • Human-on-the-loop only in narrowly defined, low-risk scenarios
  • Explainability — every AI recommendation with rationale, confidence and alternatives
  • Audit — complete logging of all decisions and actions
  • No uncontrolled autonomy — excluded by design
